Signs worth checking

Loose faceplates, crackling sounds, intermittent power, scorch marks, heat or a plug that no longer fits securely are all reasons to stop using the point until it is assessed.

Do not work on live wiring

Socket replacement involves fixed electrical wiring. Arrange appropriate electrical assistance rather than opening or modifying live connections yourself.
